City advises of electricity supply interruptions in Van Riebeeckstrand and Duynefontein area

The City advises residents in parts of Van Riebeeckstrand and Duynefontein of planned upcoming critical electricity supply interruptions for infrastructure repairs, which will be carried out on Monday, 1 December 2025, from 09:00 – 16:00. Please note that, due to technical considerations outside of the City’s control, the work has been rescheduled from 25 November to Monday, 1 December 2025. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused while the essential repairs are being carried out.

It is important to note that interruptions to supply will only impact the highlighted areas on the map and only on the relevant date. The work will be carried out from 09:00 – 16:00 on Monday, 1 December 2025, if all goes to plan.

The electricity supply could be restored at any time and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned maintenance work.

Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution and to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on.
